About June Ball
June grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and presently lives in Athens, Georgia. She holds her AB degree from Wellesley College and MFA from the University of Georgia. She describes her paintings as "arising from my feelings about certain contexts and times as well as from my deep love of color."
June's paintings in her own words:
I paint landscapes and seascapes using oil paint on stretched canvas. My paintings are responses to particular settings but they are not necessarily about those settings. They express feelings drawn from certain times and contexts. There are few realistic details in the paintings and no people or signs of people. I have made them mine in a certain way by putting them in paint on canvas. I try to share with the viewer the images of serenity I find in the natural world.
